Summer Yoga & Mindfulness Camps

Weekly Half-Day Programs For Pre-Teens Aged 7 to 13 this Summer!

Our unique and highly anticipated summer camps for pre-teens are back this summer!

Let us provide your kids with a summer experience that is both fun and deeply meaningful, one that will engage and entertain them, but will also provide them some of the skills they need most now and into the future.

In these camps, kids will learn hands-on how yoga and mindfulness can help them not only stay fit and feel better, but also help them manage emotions, get in touch with who they are, reduce stress and anxiety, and develop resilience, focus and calm.

The small sizes of our camps (like our classes) will allow for a richer, more personalized program, geared to the ages, needs and interests of the group that comes together any given week. Because of this, and the nature of yoga and mindfulness themselves, these camps are ideal for all kids between the ages of 7 and 12, and especially supportive and helpful for pre-teens dealing with everyday stress, as well as anxiety or depression, overwhelm or other challenges.

Each day campers will have the opportunity to engage in the following activities:

- Active Yoga - learning poses and movements and how to align these with the breath in a fun and engaging class
- Restorative Yoga (or other restful and mindful practice) - experiencing deep, supported relaxation for stress-reduction and healing in restorative yoga on some days, and exploring other restorative and mindfulness practices on other days
- Group Sessions and Activities - in line with a weekly theme (see below).
Cost: $395 per week (5 afternoons)

Camps will be led by one of our top instructors, Caitlin Yan.

From a young age, Caitlin found herself drawn to mindful movement. She spent her formative years at a performing arts school training in Theatre, Music and Visual Art and majored in Dance with a focus on Ballet. During high school, her mother introduced her first to meditation then Yoga and Pilates. A deep appreciation was kindled in her and although she went on to pursue a degree in Business Administration and worked in Sports Marketing for most of her corporate career, she was called back to the spiritual and grounding nature of Yoga. Meditation and movement played a crucial role in helping her navigate and survive loss and continues to play a significant role in her healing journey to this day.

Her relationship with these modalities has evolved over the years and now, teaching Yoga, improving mobility and cultivating awareness of one's body and breath has become Caitlin's purpose. Having completed the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Yogaspace in 2024, she is building a personal practice that helps inspire and refine her public offering of Yin, Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga and Meditation. She is a self-described lifelong learner and continues to keenly study human anatomy, functional movement and yoga philosophy while pursuing her 500 hour designation with certifications in Yin Yoga and Teaching Through Touch and upcoming studies in Chakra Kriya, Restorative Teacher Training and Trauma Informed Embodiment.

Caitlin has led yoga classes for adults and children together and has volunteer experience with children and youth organizations such as Literacy for Learning, Charlie's Free Wheels, Students Offering Support (SOS) and Hogar de Suenos Orphanage. She loves spending time with, guiding and learning from children, including her many young cousins, nieces and nephews.

Reviews from Last Year

Last year, we were blown away by the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received from kids and parents alike on how much the kids have loved our summer camps! It was obvious that the camps truly inspired the kids in a new-found love of yoga (and restorative yoga!), and they came away with very practical mindfulness and breathing techniques that made a difference for them.

Here's some of the feedback we've received from the kids and their parents:

"My favourite part of this camp was the restorative yoga. And I learned some coping strategies for stress and anxiety" - Evelyn, age 12
"I enjoyed the yoga classes, they were very calming and fun! I learned that there are many ways to calm yourself down, and I will take home the "smell the flower" and "blow out the candle" meditation methods" - Manuela, age 10
"I learned lots of poses" - Alexander, age 8
"I really enjoyed the whole camp but the thing I really loved was the restorative yoga. And I learned that there are so many ways of coping with stress!"  - Callia, age 11

"Our son said it was the best camp he'd ever been to and he wished he could do it all summer long!" - Alexander's mom
"Thank you for all the care and attention you put into yoga camp. Our daughter enjoyed every minute of it, particularly Ruxandra’s company, Leeay’s active yoga sessions and Maggie’s restorative yoga. Not to mention the ice cream and yoga grove tshirt gift yesterday - these really made her day! Emma will hopefully make it back for yoga camp again soon.  In the meantime, she has asked if she can start taking regular active yoga classes at Yoga Grove"  - Emma's Mom
"Our son loved yoga camp and LOVED the instructor! I really didn’t know how this week would go but he really enjoyed it! A young yoga fan is born! Thank you for putting on such a thoughtful camp."  - Leo's Mom
